BallyBet is the latest addition to the roster of legal Ontario sportsbooks.

Bally’s BallyBet iGaming and sports betting platform has been approved for the lucrative Ontario iGaming market. The launch of BallyBet.ca marks the company’s debut in Canada.

On June 30th, BallyBet.ca received a license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) that will last until June 30th, 2024. When BallyBet’s license in Ontario expires, the company must apply to have it renewed in accordance with provincial rules.

BallyBet.ca, BallyCasino.ca, BallysCasinos.ca, and Ballysbet.ca are all covered by the BallyBet license.

The primary motivation for this move was to forestall potential confusion among international participants by blocking scammers from registering domains with similar sounding names.

The creation of a specialized BallyBet mobile betting app, through which users may access all of the brand’s betting and gambling possibilities from their smartphones or tablets, is also included in the terms of BallyBet’s license.

Since April 2022, when Ontario’s regulated iGaming market debuted, the AGCO has been busy reviewing the various casino operators who have filed for a license to operate in the province.

Early on in the market’s launch, several of the major betting companies, such casino 888 and theScore, secured the coveted license, but the province has already seen its fair share of misconduct. About a month after the market opened, the AGCO had already fined two registered operators for breaking the rules on gambling advertising.

This steady and expanding activity in Ontario’s market can only be taken as an indication of the sector’s potential longevity in the international iGaming market.
